Development Director
Cloud City Wheelers (CCW), a chapter of the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA), seeks a Development Director to lead and oversee the organization’s fundraising operations. The Development Director will ensure that CCW's activities, events, and fundraising efforts align with its vision and goals, as established by the Board of Directors. Job Description
Duties include, but not limited to the following:Fundraising & Grant Writing:
Grow organizational revenue, through means of fundraising and grant funding
Lead and manage the Fundraising Committee to successfully identify and secure funding for trail development via grants, donor cultivation, and business partnerships
Research and apply for new and recurring grant opportunities
Manage donor and sponsor databases, communications, tax receipts, and renewal processes
Cultivate and sustain relationships with potential sponsors and donors, engaging them in organizational activities and creating unique opportunities for their involvement
Lead the Fundraising Committee to identify and implement unique events and campaigns, such as the Wheelie Cool Art Gala and Winter Bike Series
Membership and Business Partnership Relations:
Maintain and expand current individual membership
Create membership database and engagement plan
Develop and implement strategies to grow individual memberships in coordination with CCW’s IMBA membership services team
Expand Business Partnerships through 1% Program and Business Partnership Program
Foster relationships with Business Partners ensuring long-term relationships
Identify new sponsorship opportunities available for Business Partners
Administration & Communications:
Creates and maintains organization’s communication plan, including content for newsletters, social media, and other platforms
Maintain CCW’s website and engage with local media to promote CCW's initiatives.
Attends all Board meetings, presenting organizational updates, budget reports, and strategic plans
Prepare monthly progress and status reports for the Board
Facilitate necessary communication between committees
Track grant progress and fulfill grant report requirements and guidelines
Trail Building & Development:
Assist the Executive Director with financial planning and long-term project scheduling
Create project template to be used for all project proposals to include scopes, budgets, timelines and personnel needs
Assist the Executive Director to support fundraising campaigns; multi-year trail development plans, ensuring alignment with strategic goals
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
-Exceptional organizational skills
-Ability to proactively identify tasks and take ownership without constant supervision
-Demonstrates a strong work ethic and willingness to take on new challenges
-Passion for trails, mountain biking, outdoor recreation, and conservation
-Strong communication, marketing, and public relations skills
-Able to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
-Familiarity with Google software programs
Preferred:
-Experience in fundraising, grant writing, or donor cultivation
-Experience with non-profit boards, volunteer leadership
-Knowledge of and connections within Lake County community
-Knowledge of local trail systems and recreation opportunities
-Additional Requirements:
-Friendly, outgoing demeanor with a passion for community engagement
-Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends, especially during the summer
Currently residing in or willing to relocate to Lake County, CO
The Development Director reports to the Executive Director. The Development Director works closely with the Board of Directors, CCW Committees, CCW members, and volunteers.
Annual Salary: $45,000 to $55,000
