Carolyn Poissant, MLA, MPA, AICP is a community planner and landscape architect and an avid bicycle commuter, hiker, and nature photographer. Carolyn has spent the majority of her career managing recreational facility and trail planning, design, and construction projects, in addition to performing various types of community development work. She lived and worked in several western states, including Colorado, Nevada, Utah, and Montana, prior to taking a position with the City of Newport News in May 2019. She is the planning coordinator for the Birthplace of America Trail and project manager for the Newport News Citywide Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan. She and her trusty Labrador retriever, Daisy, can be found on various trails in the area every weekend.
