The Fábos Conference on Landscape and Greenway Planning is held every three years to bring together landscape architects, planners, and policy makers to advance research and practice on landscape and greenway planning from the local to the international level.

he aim of this conference is to explore how landscape architects and planners from different countries approach greenway planning and to understand how greenways have been tailored to each country’s unique geographical, cultural, and political circumstances. The conference expands the literature on landscape and greenway planning by publishing full papers in a refereed proceedings.



This year's conference focuses on greenways’ vital role connecting urban and rural settings, promoting ecological balance, and offering spaces that promote human health and well-being. We encourage papers that showcase innovative approaches, case studies, and theoretical advancements in the field.



The concept of "healing place and planet" in urban planning involves creating environments that promote both human health and environmental sustainability. Topic areas include but are not limited to climate change and resilience, human health and wellbeing, public-private partnerships, tourism and landscape, urban greenways, greenways as corridors and destinations, greenways as public parks, cultural, historical landscapes, sustainability and greenways, sustainable transportation, landscape and regional planning, governance and management, landscape/greenspace policy and planning, ecosystem services and green infrastructure, reclamation and brownfields, evolving role of public open spaces.
